MECHANICAL ENGINEER: FRAUD, DISTRIBUTION AND POSSESSION OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES, ASSAULT, BURGLARY

every-saint

This could go in any direction. Where do you want to start?

Let’s see. Paperwork crimes? I was charged in-state tuition at an out-of-state school. That saved me tens of thousands. Drug crimes? Selling out of an apartment complex is what got me through college. Fights? Burglary? Showing up at work drunk, high? Sure. I was the smart kid always getting into trouble.

I grew up poor and am still clawing my way out of debt. At my first real internship, I made more money than my parents combined.

You know what makes the difference? My white, Christian boss sees me as his son. I may mess up, but he’s not going to kick me out.

Thankfully, I don’t have a record. I wouldn’t be able to get this job if I did. But even if I did have a record and didn’t have this job, I’d still be the same person.

I don’t judge people for the bad things they’ve done. It’s like that saying, every saint has a past, and every sinner a future.
