A few years ago, I went to a rave where I ingested substances that seemed very fun at the time. I had gone with friends who were selling, and throughout the night, I’d point people their way.
I was working for a tech company at the time and had access to all sorts of private data. I likely would have been fired if I had picked up a felony.
It would be very scary if I were not able to be where I am today.
But it wasn’t a mistake. There are a lot of people who want to try things, and that’s okay. In order to be an effective policymaker, we need to be able to understand why people do the things they do.
